Description:Kornerupine is a rather rare stone, which is not often seen in rich colors (usually only brown or yellow). This stone is a rare, nearly black color cat''s eye gem with a very nice distinct eye. A bright pen light was used to show off the eye in this stone well in the photos, but it clearly shows up in good indoor lighting or in sunlight. I have to say that this is one of the few cat''s eye Kornerupines I''ve seen from Burma in a while. They are not as common as one might think and this gem doesn''t get much credit because it usually occurs in such somber colors.
