Major old collections purchased!
Time Left:Auction Is Closed
Description:Jade is one of the most popular "non gem quality" stones around. The material is often only translucent, but the beautiful traditional green color is what attracts collectors. This "Oval Cabochon" cut stone has a fantastic emerald green color (slightly more intense than the photos show), and is translucent for all intents and purposes. Now the stone has been treated - most likely it has been resin filled - to enhance the color, but this is a perfectly accepted practice in the Jade world as long as the buyer knows that the stone has been treated. It is a very attractive stone and truly glows when backlit. PLEASE NOTE: The recent embargo implemented by the United States government states that there will NOT be ANY Burmese Jade imported to U.S. soil after September 30, 2008. Now that the embargo has gone into effect, one can only purchase gems that were imported prior to the embargo. From now on, these Burmese Rubies will be very difficult to obtain. Buy this gem now because they will be disappearing from the market rapidly. For the $100 starting bid, this gem is priced at just over than $4 per carat.
