Description:Apatite from Tanzania is becoming more and more difficult to find as the best deposit for the material dried up years ago, and the material is only being found in small sporadic areas. I don''t see many stones approaching 5 carats from this area these days (let alone a stone over 6 carats !), and this is one of the better gems I''ve seen for color and clarity. The stone has a lovely yellow color with a slight green overtone. It is amazingly eye clean, and considering that the majority of these stones rarely approach 3 carats in weight (even with inclusions), this is a significant stone for this area.
