Description:This is a great collector''s stone. How often do you see Cobaltoan Calcite available for sale in today''s market? This stone is a nice, good size, very rare, soft pink color, "Oval" cut gemstone of Cobaltoan Calcite. Gems like this are rarely seen in faceted stones, and the color on this stone is good for this material. It is indeed a very rare gem considering that rough is extremely difficult to find, not to mention that the area which produced this material is now closed and there is almost no other source for these crystals in the world outside of Morocco and the Congo. The Spanish material is by far the most classic and highly sought after when it comes to cut stones. This stone is translucent, and it is difficult to find this material in clean stones, so inclusions are accepted by most collectors and dealers. Despite my best efforts, I cannot get the photos to look as good as the stone appears in person. A very attractive rare gemstone with a lovely color.
