Description:Apatite from Kenya is becoming more and more difficult to find as the best deposit for the material dried up years ago, and the material is only being found in small sporadic areas. I don''t see many stones approaching 9 carats (!) from this area these days, and this is one of the best gems I''ve seen for color and clarity. The stone has a lovely light yellow color with a "Cushion" cut. It is amazingly eye clean, and considering that the majority of these stones rarely approach 3 carats in weight (even with inclusions), this is a VERY significant stone for this area. The retail value on this stone is $445.00, and would be rather difficult to replace for the size, color and quality.
