Item Description

Very artistic fluorapatite from the well-known 1989 find at this Brazilian pegmatite. Sharp, highly lustrous, glassy, partially translucent, mottled olive-green crystals form this very aesthetic trident. The crystals have textbook hexgonal form and this cutie looks great from either side. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a lightly bruised primary crystal termination edge and the contact on the front, with no damage, per se. Two different colors of fluorescence under LW and SW UV light, as a nice bonus. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12181 and acquired from well-known Brazilian dealer Carlos Barbosa at the 1990 Denver Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). A very fine apatite from the locale.
