Wavellite (classic locale)

Item Description

Pretty mint-green, sparkly, translucent, nubby spherical aggregates of bladed wavellite crystals are dramatically clustered and isolated on the front of the large sculptural contrasting shale-covered novaculite matrix. The isolation of botryoids, to 1.0 cm, is noteworthy, as the wavellite botryoids are generally densely intergrown from here. The broken botryoid at the top actually adds character, as it reveals the nifty radial growth of the wavellite. This is classic, excellent and unusual large wavellite with fine color from the famous Mauldin Mt. Quarries. There are a few more spherules on the back, as a bonus.
