Description:Chrysoberyl from these old mines was well known in the 1950s-1960s but its been a long time since major finds here. Recent explorations have found some new specimens though, including this big, chunky crystal (252 grams). It is complete all around, although matte and a little rough on one side. It has a greenish-yellow color to it, and is translucent when strongly lit (more yellow when lit up), but is not gemmy nor particularly lustrous. Still, its a BIG crystal !
