Description:A dramatic and aesthetic cluster of sharp, highly modified, lustrous, brassy, pyrite crystals set on and coated with calcite on the backside from the much less well-known Barocca Grande Mine at Panasqueira, Portugal. The large crystal is 5.0 cm and the crystals appear to be modified octahedrons and dodecahedrons. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, one point of periphery wear to a pyrite crystal is noted, but is hidden on the backside. Ex Willy Israel Collection and purchased from J. Oliveira in 1985. Classic, seldom available material in this quality from this locale and looks great from two angles.. Valued $600 as such good pyrite is rare for the locale
