  • Size:17.5 x 9.8 x 6.5 cm
  • Size Description:LARGE CABINET

Description:A stunning, 9.0 cm, lustrous, brassy, compound pyrrhotite crystal beautifully and aesthetically rests amongst sprays of radiating milky quartz needles on this outstanding LARGE CABINET specimen from the famous Nikolaevskiy Mine at Dalnegorsk. A couple of smaller pyrrhotite crystals are a nice accent. The accompanying label from a Russian dealer indicates that the piece was mined in 1992, during the height of material coming from Dalnegorsk. Material of this size and quality is difficult to obtain today. The front edge of the termination is nubby, but complete. The back, inner core of the termination is contacted, but the primary display of this large pyrrhotite is the striking front of the crystal, so the contacting does not effect the display view in any way. For such rich coverage, the few scattered broken quartz needles are barely noticeable. Fairly valued at $1000-1200.
