Description:Sugilite is a rare lithium silicate. Purple sugilite microcrystals richly and attractively cover two sides of the vuggy matrix on this showy and excellent specimen from the famous Wessels Mine of South Africa. The crystals are small, but so bright and so colorful! This is very desirable and hard to obtain today. Valued at $600, for richness. Ex Willy Israel Collection and purchased from Willi Woest in 1987.
