Description:This is a classic example of the fine, elongate, barrel-shaped strontianite crystals which are European classics. Most specimens are 50 years old or more, and they only turn up in old collections today. In fact, I believe they are still the best crystallographic examples of the species, even after 200 years. This piece has sharp, translucent, freestanding crystals to approx. 1.5 cm in length, on a vuggy matrix. Ex Helmut Bruckner collection. Valued $500-600
