Description:This mine is renowned for it''s superb pink Rhodochrosite specimens which are sometimes associated with green Fluorites. Typically the Flourites from the Sunnyside mine are octahedral in habit, and this mound of pale green octahedral Fluorite would be a good display specimen in its own right, but it is sprinkled with beautiful light pink "rosettes" of Rhodochrosite for a great touch ! This is the ideal combination for collectors of this material, and it is almost impossible to find on the market today. Overall, the piece is in good condition with only a few small "rubs" to the Fluorite crystals (the largest of which measures 2.2 cm across). Some of the most classic and HIGHLY sought after Fluorites in all of the U.S. came from the historic Sunnyside mine in San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado. A very attractive and worthwhile specimen from the well known Colorado collection of Rich Kosnar. Valued at $850-$1000.
