Description:The Berg Aukas Mine of Namibia has produced the worlds finest descloizite specimens and this is an excellent and unusual specimen. The descloizite spearpoints form 3-dimensional rosettes or reniform-like clusters. The crystals can be sharp or muted/subdued. Some are highly lustrous, but most are matte-finish with a secondary overgrowth of descloizite. Nearly pristine, there are only a few bruised crystals. This showy and unusual piece is a very highly representative example of the species and famous locality, which closed in 1978. Valued at $400. Ex Rob Smith Collection, a noted Namibian specialist.
