Description:From the type locality for the species, this is a very good example of the rare Copper Arsenate Euchroite. This "Dana Locality" dates back hundreds of years, and has been a source of some of the msot classic eastern European minerals for generations. This piece features several rich emerald green, EUHEDRAL, sharp, lustrous, orthorhombic crystal of Euchroite on a gossan matrix. The most impressive aspect of this piece is that the Euchroite crystals are not altered, or dull, or pitted, but very smooth, with excellent consistency of color and good luster. These specimens are few and far between on the market, and the top pieces sell well into the thousands of dollars. A great colorful rarity from this renowned mining district in Slovakia.
