Description:A showy and excellent, old-time combination specimen from the famous Ilfeld area of the Harz Mountains. Lustrous, jet-black, hausmannite crystals are richly scattered in pods on the contrasting, cream-colored, barite blades. Classic, seldom available combination material from this historic locale (i have seen very few over many years). Comes with an expertly handwritten, faded label from an older collection. The collection this came out of was a museum stash dating to prior to World War I. Valued $400-500
