Description:A gorgeous and striking, two-sided oval ball of very glassy and gemmy, rose-brown, elongated orthorhombic crystals of olmiite from the NEW, Fall 2008 find at the famous Nchwaning II Mine of South Africa. The ball is attached to a small shard of matrix and is contacted at the base. This is a outstanding, gemmy example from this find and it really glows a beautiful rose-red with good light. Olmiite was formerly known as poldervaartite, prior to recent extensive testing. Valued at $500-700.
