Description:An aesthetic and rare, ball-like cluster of intergrown, bladed rosettes of highly lustrous, azure-blue azurite crystals perched on matrix from the well-known finds at the Blue Grotto Mine, La Sal, Utah. Matrix azurite specimens are very uncommon from La Sal, as the balls are nearly always matrix-free. Ex Dave Stoudt Collection. For the quality, and rarity of a cluster like this, I feel that this is valued at $500 today. matrix specimens, and so balanced in size, are very uncommon from here!
