Description:A very showy and unusual, mounded, CABINET, specimen from the famed Joplin Field of Missouri. Sparkling, metallic, marcasite crystals are festooned on the glassy quartz crystals, that cover the matrix of silicified limestone and sphalerite. One side has an unusual, 2.7 x1.7 cm, sharply retangular, sphalerite-cored area surrounded by quartz crystals. This area looks to be a cast after a dissolved galena crystal? Weird. This complete all-around piece is essentially pristine. Old-time and strange material from this historic district. Ex E.R. Chadbourn, Phil Scalisi and George Feist Collections, dating back to the 1950s or before.
