Description:This is a great specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what most collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular specimen, has no Amazonite, but it is a great display piece featuring sharp, lustrous, golden-black "blades" of Goethite formingbeautiful crystallized "sprays" on sharp, gemmy, dark Smoky Quartz matrix. Keep in mind that this specimen was collected 30 years ago (1980), when Richard Kosnar found some of the finest color Amazonite from Colorado extant. Don't miss out on this great Colorado "classic". It is not common to see a matrix specimen of this material, let alone such an aesthetic and eye-cathching piece like this one. Valued at $900-$1000.
