Description:Friedelite is a relatively rare silicate that is only found in a few localities world wide. There are hundreds of species that occur around the Franklin mining district, and Friedelite is among the most classic and well known. This piece hosts many small (less than 1 mm), sharp, lustrous, brownish-yellow crystals of Friedelite on typical Franklin matrix. This piece is from the famous New Jersey collection of Richard A. Kosnar.
