Description:An excellent classic specimen of the famous gemmy green Siderites from the famous Morro Velho Gold mine in Brazil. Despite the fact that this was a Gold mine, it produced some unique Siderite association specimens during the early 1970s. The highly compressed, distinctive rhombohedra of Siderite show beautiful razor sharp, HIGHLY lustrous faces with excellent internal gemminess. The color is certainly characteristic for the locality. The crystals on this specimen are fine quality for the locality, and are sitting on gemmy, colorless Dolomite matrix with minor metallic golden crystals of Pyrrhotite and Cubanite! A great association specimen of this well known material from Brazil. Mined in 1971, and comes from the famous Brazilian collection of Rich Kosnar.
