Description:A unique "Alpine type" specimen featuring dark, metallic, black platy crystals of Ilmenite laying flat against a crystallized matrix of somewhat thin Quartz crystals which are coated with moss-green "Chlorite". The largest Ilmenite crystal measures 4.3 cm long. It is certainly unlike any other Ilmenite specimen from Pakistan that I have seen. Rich Kosnar purchased the specimen from noted dealer of Pakistani minerals, Dudley Blauwet in 1999. The Ilmenites are broad in form, but not 100% complete around the edges. A cool, hand-sized specimen resembling those from Alpine "clefts".
