Description:Although this mine is best known for its Rhodochrosite and green Fluorite specimens, it did produce some attractive sulfides as well. This piece features dozens of sharp, lustrous, tetrahedral, black crystals of Sphalerite which are associated with an attractive DOUBLY-TERMINATED, gemmy, colorless 3.3 Quartz crystal that is piercing through both sides of the specimen. The Sphalerite crystals measure up to 12 mm across, and the majority of them are complete and in good shape. A good representative specimen from this historic and world-famous locality in the San Juan mountains of southwestern Colorado.
