Description:When somebody mentions blue Smithsonite, most collectors immediately think of the famous Kelly mine in New Mexico which has produced some of the most oustanding specimens of the species extant. This piece features dozens of lustrous, soft blue color radiating aggregates of Smithsonite on a gossan matrix. The piece comes from the Rich Kosnar Collection and his hand-painted catalogue number can be seen on the reverse side of the specimen. A good quality, undamaged display specimen of this highly sought after classic US material.
