Description:A superb miniature display specimen of the rare lead, copper, iron sulfide Betekhtinite. The specimen features attractive, sharp, lustrous, metallic grey color, prismatic "needles" in parallel growth which are associated with Calcite, but the most impressive aspect of the piece is the fact that the crystals are not only on MATRIX, but are AESTHETICALLY sitting on the matrix! The Dzhezkazgan Mine produces the finest specimens of this species in the world, but typically the specimens are found as clusters of crystals off matrix. This piece is certainly one of the best matrix pieces that I've handled in this size range. Valued at $750-$950.
