Description:This specimen was collected by Antonio Barahona of Spain who is credited for discovering the species, which was approved by the IMA at the end of 2001. This is a rare hydrated cobalt magnesium iron arsenate that is only found in a few localities worldwide, the Dolores prospect being the type locality. This piece hosts hundreds of micro yellow to golden-orange color crystals of Cobaltarthurite. I have photographed the crystals under the microscope, as they truly are micros. A great reference specimen of this hard to find species both from the type locality, and the man who discovered it !!
