Description:Quartz is beloved for it thousands of habits found around the world. Some of the most distinctive Quartz specimens found in Alpine deposits are the attractive "Faden" crystal groups. This crystal group exhibits the classic "Faden" (German word for string) form that is well known from this area. The piece exhibits a notable "Faden" that runs PARALLEL with the prism of the crystals, which is really unusual in my experiecne, as the "Faden" lines usually run ACROSS the prism faces. The piece is very gemmy, sharp, lustrous, attractive, and nearly damage free. The largest crystal has a tiny amount of roughness on the termination, which is almost unnoticeable to the naked eye. You can display this piece from either side, and it would rival many superb true Alpine "Fadens" for quality and displayability. These pieces seemed to have dried up in recent years, and I personally think they are highly underappreciated for what they are.
