Description:A really cool and unusual specimen from the classic San Juan Mining District in southwestern Colorado. This piece features beautiful, well-formed epimorphs / "casts" of lustrous, gemmy Quartz crystals after tabular and somewhat cavernous crystals of Anhydrite. If you're a Quartz collector, maybe you don't have one of these in your collection from Ouray, and it certainly had a beautiful appearance with the reddish-brown iron staining on the inside of the casts. The piece was collected by Benjy Kuehling and comes from the personal collection of Brian Kosnar.
