Description:This Trap Rock locality is one of the most impressive (and under appreciated) Zeolite localities in the world. This quarry has produced some amazing specimens over the last 100 years. There are no Zeolites on this specimen, but it features an uncommon (for this environment) sulfide. The specimen hosts a few very sharp, well-crystallized, attractive, golden color, metallic crystals of Chalcopyrite on Quartz matrix. The largest Chalcopyrite crystal measures 4 mm across. The piece is essentially undamaged, and has some good pedigree as it was actually collected by Rich Kosnar in June of 1968 according to the hand-written label on the base of the piece. A great and aesthetic thumbnail from this historic locality.
