Description:A wonderful and classic "floater" Orthoclase specimen from the famous La Machota Baja outcrop showing the well-defined, penetration twinning form. Carlsbad twins often exhibit 2 elongate individuals separated by a single composition plane. The individuals differ in extinction between crossed polars. The piece has a light cream color and is good sized compared to most I have seen from this area. A wonderful representative specimen of these well known Feldspars. Not seen often on the market, and certainly worthwhile for any Feldspar collector to pick up for their collection.
