Description:These fairly new and incredibly interesting Pyrite concretions are some of the most unique specimens that I have seen from any locality. The bright, sparkling, sharp, modified, metallic Pyrite crystals have formed unique intergrown somewhat spherical groups which are isolated on an "egg-shaped" ball of shale. The specimen resembles some kind of strange planet, and almost has an organic look to it. A very cool "floater" specimen and certainly unusual. It's actually rather different from the majority of the Pyrite concretions I've seen from this area, which typically form "rings" of Pyrite instead of small isolated groups of defined crystals like this one.
