Description:A most unusual and really interesting Quartz specimen from this ancient mineral producing part of Europe. I'm told that these specimens were actually collected a few years ago (2008-2009), and they caught the attention of a lot of collectors and dealers in Europe. The piece hosts many sharp prismatic Quartz crystals which have a really eye-catching, bronze / golden / orange colored iridescent coating of iron and manganese oxides to create a beautiful overall specimen. The crystals are most simple prisms in habit, but some show slight scepter overgrowths on the terminations. A few of the broken crystals on the base reveal that the Quartzes are actually colorless and gemmy inside, so this is not an inclusion, but a complete coverage on the crystals to create a pseudo-"patina" that is almost unheard of for the species. The largest crystal measures 1.0 cm. If you're a Quartz collector, don't miss out on a piece of this unique and hard to find material.
