Description:The Idarado mine is most famous for it's Manganoan Calcite specimens, in fact, the largest quantity of the finest quality Manganoan Calcite specimens from Colorado were found in this mine. This specimen does not have any Mn-Calcite but rather white "dog-tooth" Calcite which are coating one side of a group of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, colorless Quartz crystals. Despite a tiny bit of damage, the overall quality of the piece makes it a very good display specimen of this truly classic San Juan material.
