Description:The various gneiss quarries in the Beura area in Italy have produced some very attractive and well-known Alpine mineral species. This specimen hosts small beautiful pistachio green color, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, prismatic "sword-shaped" crystals of Epidote sitting on matrix. I have photographed the crystals under the microscope to better show their quality. From the famous Alpine collection of Richard A. Kosnar.
