Item Description

Three pod-like aggregates of lustrous, translucent, pretty light apple-green bladed anapaite crystals are aesthetically set on ironstone matrix on this showy thumbnail from the Ukraine. A RARE 0.67 carat cushion-cut gemmy stone is a super companion. This locality is extinct and specimens are hard to obtain. Anapaite, a phosphate, is found in lacustrine (lake) sediments. It has a hardness of 3.5, between calcite and fluorite. As such, it is a rare and fairly soft collectible gemstone. A RARE rough and cut set.
