Item Description

An exceptionally aesthetic combination from the famous Panasqueira Mine. A 5.2 cm, pristine, doubly terminated, water-clear to translucent quartz crystal is dramatically perched atop the extremely vuggy sculptural crust of tiny flattened siderite rhombs. The siderites host more gem quartz crystals AND have a rich sprinkling of sharp cassiterite crystals. The splendent cassiterites are mostly jet-black, but areas of brown translucence are a nice accent. The impressive, well-placed largest cassiterite is 1.3 cm (good sized for the locale). Some of the vugs go all the way through the piece. This is an outstanding and pristine two-sided combination from this noted mine, with even the mine level known. Choice material from the Art Soregaroli Collection. Valued at $1000-1250 for combination quality, richness and aesthetics.
