Item Description

A wonderful Alpine Feldpsar from the famous Binntal in Switzerland. Most Feldspars do not show such fine quality twinning with a bit of gemminess like this crystal. It's very sharp and lustrous and despite a contact on the base, it's nearly damage free. It's such a fine textbook twin with sharp, lustrous faces. You just don't see Feldspar like this from virtually any world locality, and the fact that this one is Swiss already makes it a bit more valuable than its Italian or Austrian counterparts. It should be noted that Adularia is now defined as a variety of K Feldspar, and not just Orthoclase. How often have you seen a Feldpsar like this from the Alps? Don't miss out. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3353). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A beautiful and attractive old-timer from this famous Alpine locale.
