Azurite (ex Bruce J. Murphy and B. Willon Collections)

Item Description

A wonderful group of sharp, well-formed, lustrous, rich midnight blue blocky crystals of Azurite from the famous mine at Ajo. The crystals look beautiful up close, and I can't find any real damage with the naked eye. A light dusting of minty-green colored Malachite on the bottom makes for a nice touch. Very good condition overall and really eye-catching. Classic material, not easily found on the market these days. The piece comes with labels from the Bruce J. Murphy Collection, and another from the collection of B. Willion who states that it was collected circa 1986 by Stan Esbenshade.
