Item Description

A cool old time specimen from the famous Tsumeb Mine consisting of prismatic, soft green colored, translucent crystals of Aragonite (formerly referred to as Igloite) free of matrix. According to the label, this variety(?) of Aragonite gets its color from Malachite inclusions. A very worthwhile and attractive display piece from this world famous locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12092). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
