Item Description

Tiny, rich blood red color acicular crystals of Chalcotrichite (the fibrous variety of Cuprite) on matrix from the famous Teniente Mine in Chile. This mine dates back 200 years and is possibly the largest underground Copper mine in the world. I've never seen a single piece of Cuprite from this locality, and while this is a micro specimen, it's a very worthwhile specimen for anybody who collects copper minerals, Chilean minerals or hard to find specimens from interesting localities. The piece comes with a label from dealer John Albanese.
