Item Description

The Tasna mine is probably best known for its Ferberite specimens, but there are some very attractive Pyrite specimens that come out from time to time. This is a decent piece featuring sharp, very lustrous, metallic, octahedral crystals of Pyrite measuring up to 7 mm. The specimen is in pretty good shape, and this piece is only one of a handful that I acquired when these pieces came out (it was mined in 2004). Octahedral Pyrite is fairly rare around the world, and Tasna is honestly the only mine in Bolivia that has produced them with any consistency over the years.
