Item Description

Sharp, lustrous, blue-green, well-formed color cubes of Fluorite measuring up to 3.6 cm off matrix. The luster is almost "wet"-looking on certain faces while nearly showing a "matte" luster on other faces. The piece is not 100% damage free, as some of the edges are contacted, but overall it's in good shape for the material, and it just GLOWS with color when backlit. These are not common on the market, and pieces with this color in larger sized crystals are difficult to find. I'm very impressed by the immense variety of colors of Fluorite that are seen from this locality. From the collection of the long time, beloved, well-known French field collector, Paul Zerfass (Collection #1781). Zerfass built this worldwide collection over nearly 50 years, many of which were personally collected. A biography featuring specimens from his collection (along with his face on the cover) is in the May - June 2017 issue of French mineral magazine, Le Regne Mineral. We have a .pdf copy of the article for anybody interested in reading it (though it's mostly in French). Just drop us a line and know that you'd like to have a copy.
