A hard to find specimen of the well-known cerium phosphate, Monazite-(Ce) from this classic locality in Pakistan. Zagi Mountain is the home of a lot of distinctive and eye-catching mineral species, that are not found in other localities in Pakistan. The Monazite-(Ce) crystals on this specimen are a great example from Zagi Mountain featuring sharp, lustrous / adamantine rich golden-orange color compressed monoclinic crystals measuring up to 7 mm nestled into matrix. Good quality, and very attractive up close. From the worldwide collection of famed Italian mineral collector, field collector and author, Francesco Bedogne of Sondrio, Italy (Collection #2018). Bedogne wrote dozens of articles and several books about the mineralogy of Italian Alpine localities such as Val Bregaglia, Val Masino, Val Codera, Val Spluga, Valtellina and the famous Val Malenco. He was also the founder of the Valtellinese Mineralogical Institute.
