Item Description

A really attractive and interesting specimen of the eye-catching, yet lesser known specimens of Quartz from the locality at Sidi Rahal in Morocco. This area is known for producing beautiful specimens of Quartz / Agate / Chalcedony, often with fantastic forms and wonderful rich red colors (caused from Hematite inclusions). This piece is a somewhere between a geodge, a vug, and a nodule of Quartz / Agate as the form is somewhat layered, but still shows a crystallized center of drusy red Quartz crystals (which get their color from Hematite) but as you move outwards, the piece tranistions into banded Agate with a soft lavender to bluish hue mixed between layers of rock. The piece has real character, and presents a unique look from every side. Showy, colorful and just pretty for what it is. A great opportunity for Quartz collectors or a collector of Moroccan minerals to pick up a cool display specimen of this hard to find material. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the larger size and weight of this piece, an additional shipping charge will be required, please keep this in mind when bidding.
