Item Description

From the personal collection - not dealer stock - of Herb Obodda (#1254), here we have an attractive overall specimen featuring a notably GEMMY and THICK group of very sharp, lustrous, well-formed crystals of Adularia from the famous locality at Hashupa which is best known for its amazing "Alpine"-type Epidote specimens. It's hard to find gem grade Feldpsar from any locality, but the metamorphic Adularia crystals - whether they come from the European Alps or the mountains of Pakistan - are among my favorites in terms of quality and form. I have to say that this specimen is nearly transparent in areas, which is rare for Adularia crystal this size. This piece is in great shape on the display side, but please know that it is contacted / cleaved on the back. It should be noted that Adularia used to be defined as a variety of Orthoclase, but now it's classified as ordered low-temperature variety of K-Feldspar (either Orthoclase or Microcline). Valued at $600.
