Item Description

The Jonas Mine is world-famous for producing the most spectacular Tourmaline specimens in the world. The finest examples of these crystals reached approximately 1 meter in length with the classic fiery cranberry pinkish-red hue. This piece is a lovely thumbnail of this beloved material featuring a pair of GEM quality, prismatic, striated crystals of Rubellite Tourmaline measuring up to 8 mm sitting on lilac "Lepdiolite" Mica matrix. I put "Lepidolite" in quotes becuase it's no longer considered a species, and right now it's said to be a series between Polylithionite and Trilithionite. The main Rubellite crystal on the specimen is not 100% complete, but the little guy in the back is damage free. A showy thumbnail specimen of this world famous material from Brazil.
