Item Description

This specimen came to us labeled as coming from Murcia, Spain. It might be from the Herculano Mine, but I don't have an exact locality. If any collectors out there shed some insight, please feel free to let us know. Sharp, well-formed, scalenohedral (almost trigonal looking) crystals of a soft yellowish-white color cover the underlying matrix. The crystals have a white matte luster except on the triangular terminations where they are notably bright, sharp and lustrous. The crystals are actually gemmy when you view into them through the small windows of the terminations. Cool material, and certainly worth picking up if you collect Calcites, carbonates or European minerals.
