Gibbsite (great color)

Gibbsite is a fairly uncommon Aluminum Hydroxide mineral, that is not often found in attractive display specimen. A few years ago China started producing some of the most impressive Gibbsite specimens to come out of any locality with some of the best blue hues ever seen, combined with larger sized pieces. This specimen is composed of botryoidal, lustrous and translucent, sky blue to aquamarine blue Gibbsite on matrix. This new find is possibly the world's best of species for intensity in coloration. Very pretty material and fairly lightweight. From a find that came out in 2012.
