Item Description

This specimen comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ). The piece is mounted in a "Perky" box with a typed label on the base from Wulff's collection. This is a great old display piece of featuring a good sized, sharp, cubic crystal of silvery Galena measuring 1.5 cm with cuboctahedral Galena overgrowths. The piece is nearly 100% complete all the way around, and displays well from a few angles. No real damage that I can see on the display side with the naked eye. It's a great old time specimen dating back probably around 50-60 years. An attractive specimen from this noteworthy collection.
